Automobile Registrations- For new registrations, gather your certificate of insurance, proof of sale, and or title, the vehicle’s odometer reading, your identification and two checks. Upon completion of paying the excise taxes to the Town of Highland, you will need to go to the New Portland Town Office for the license plates, where you will pay the State of Maine for the license plates and tags.

Automobile Registration renewals - For registration renewal gather your certificate of insurance, registration, the vehicle’s odometer reading, your identification and two checks. One check is for the excise taxes to the Town of Highland, the other to the State of Maine for the new tags, which are available with the Tax Collector.

Boat Registrations- Contact the Tax Collector to make an appointment for your registration. All watercraft registrations expire on December 31st. Excise tax must be paid on all boats.

Snowmobile & ATV Registrations- Contact the Tax Collector to make an appointment for your registration. Snowmobile and ATV registrations expire on June 30th.

Highland does not have online renewal.

Black and white

First page - includes postage $1.25
Additional pages - Black and white $.25 per page ( up to 3 pages total ) after 3 pages add additional postage

Double Sided, Color, Enlarged or Large print jobs

Cost of Staples or similar service plus delivery, postage or mileage, whichever applies.
Printing fees over $30.00 - you will be contacted before proceeding with the request.
Printing fees over $100.00 - the Tax Collector receives 50% up front - 50% upon receipt.
